growing pains for having to suddenly produce so many in house movements...it aint as easy as rolex makes it look
id go for an ETA movement and give panerai in house a bit more time to work out the kinks. the DSSD sounds nice too. great that your got cash back!

Buy another one. Don't let one bad apple which was probably a eays fix anyway pull you away from a great watch.
The P9000 has been nothing but reliable and extremely accurate for me, it's a fantastic movement and the 351 is one amazing watch.

I think you are overreacting.
No one is perfect and you were treated fairly from what I've read. It would be another story if they gave you an incredible hard time, lied to you, etc. You bought something, it broke within warranty and they gave your money back. If you don't like the watch is one thing, but things break or aren't put together perfectly 100% of the time.

Eric,
In actuality, Panerai service in Canada is much quicker than in the US. Unless you have to wait for parts from Switzerland. My last Panerai service took under 6 weeks. I go through a lot of Panerai watches. I have had a couple of p.9000 movement watches develop issues. It is disconcerting. I have had many in house Panerais that have run flawlessly. I must state for the record, that of all the eta based Panerais that I have ever owned, only one brokedown. Nothing but the odd regulation or cleaning for all the others. Compared to other brands that I frequent, Panerai has the best record of performance for me. You should not avoid the brand. It might make you feel better if you avoid the p.9000 movement models, though it is very unlikely that you would experience the same problem again. |

IMO hats off to panerai and the AD for giving the money back, it shows customer satisfaction is their motto and they should be appreciated for that , i dont think i have heard another co which refunds the money in case of a product gone wrong. just my 2 cents
