One in / One out - PAM 243

With some regret I've traded in my 14060M non COSC sub for a sub of another variety - a PAM 243J which has been calling to me for a couple of years now.

I really liked the ND Sub with the perfect Rolex dial layout (and so did my wife who often nabbed it on nato), however it didn't get too much wrist time with a SD and SDDS also in the stable.

Admiring the rugged looks of this beast of a watch which is both my first Pam Sub as well as the first T dial with emerging patina. I'm also currently enjoying swapping multiple times a day between the OEM rubber and a fitting GS strap picked up to celebrate.

That's me done for 2011...

PS: thanks to Leeye for some good advice on the trade

Thanks Mik.

Interesting that on reflection my collection is getting quite PAM lopsided. If you'd asked me at the beginning of the year I would have thought that it would be more even with maybe the EXP2 and a DJ2 coming on board, which never happened...

Same boat my friend. When I first came to TRF I was all ROLEX. I didn't like these clowny Panerai. Now.....3 Panerai 1 Rolex and that Rolex is in a dangerous place!

Oh forgot to mention as a warning to all, if taking a full set PAM out of Singapore, either packi the screwdriver in checkin or post ahead, security at Changi had an issue with mine and I ended up having to courier it ahead...

agreed that it's a really nice strap and it suits the 243 well, too.

scarily enough, i knew by looking that it was a GSD....i've got to see if there's a local strapoholics anonymous chapter near me.

The 243 is a beast of a watch, one that has been on my radar for years as well. Congrats and enjoy.

Hmm......not sure why a simple screw driver is not allowed on the aircraft.

Maybe it is to prevent you changing straps on the flight n spreading the Pam fever to other passengers!

Big Congrats
243 is a sexy beast with the 1950 case and the way to go if the 47mm of the 305 are looking huge on your wrist.

Thanks all for the feedback, whilst there have been a few pangs of regret over the past week on letting the ND Sub go (mainly due to viewing certain posts on this forum), I've been thoroughly enjoying the PAM 243 and putting it to good use on the beaches of Penang. Hope everyone had a great Xmas...
