What is a fair price for this Panerai Pam 000?

Hi everyone,

Hoping to purchase my first Panerai this weekend. Found a local seller who is selling a model 000 from 1975. Picture below. How much should I expect to pay assuming it is in mint condition? Any help or insight would be much appreciated!

I would love to see a 000 from 1975! I have a zero, it's a great watch, and can be had for a very fair price now on the preowned market. Complete sets can be had right around the $3000 USD mark. I have seen some a little less and some more .
It's a buyers market so look around and negotiate

EDIT: Sorry guys, watch is actually a 2012. Dealer mixed it up with a different watch. Shows how big of a noob I am!

If the Pam 000 is produced in 2012, serial should be 'O'.

Mine is Base 000 is O serial, I bought it in 2013 for 3000 euro. Pristine condition, all B&P incl. the outer cardboard box accounted for, the guy was a Panerai collector. I even made a special trip to Greece for the purchase :)

Check chrono24, watch recon, watch patrol (I think they have information on the mean price ranges), even eBay...

Good source for info is:
www.paneraisiurce.com

And the paneristi forum.

In case the set is not complete, the watch condition is not optimal, there is always a room for polite bargaining :)

Good luck!

He is asking $3300 so I guess that is fair? I am not the haggling type so just want to make sure it is an ok deal. Seems like everything is included from the pics but like I said I am a huge noob and don't know.

Ok. I think that price is fair but the rule of thumb is buy seller before buying watch.
Is there any place you can check if watch is authentic?

Seems like too low of a price to me - but I am a big believer in buy the seller, not the watch.

There is a local Panerai dealer by both of us. Guy seems legit but could never be to safe. Does Panerai provide this service of authenticating watches?

Ask the dealer. 3300 isn't a bad price. Is it a complete set? Boxes, signed/stamped papers, etc?

Fakes are too good now to not get a Panerai authenticated if you don't know the seller. I have a 5 btw. Love the base models.

Just received my p series today for $2950, box, etc., etc., also including invoice and receipt. AD verified all details of sale from his POS system including model and serial number, date and name of original owner. I hate to say it, but the presentation puts rolex to shame.

Now, can anyone point me towards a beginner/newbie resource on straps? Thanks.

Its always a good sign that the whole package includes all box, paper, warranty cards and movement stickers. The "counter-fake" are getting good. But I don't know if they are doing the whole matching number on ALL paper / sticker and they are usually of "certain" series.
