back from service

Just got my seamaster smp back from service this weekend, 17 years old and has had a used life lets say, worn for diving as it was meant to be and many other daily lifestyle tasks. decided to keep the faded bezel, fading red tip on sweeper hand and no polish on the case or bracelet and let the watch show its life story.

Nice to see a watch that's been worn as intended

Very Nice Just Like Bond would have worn it (Brosnan).
I had this model and sold it to make money towards my now Rolex.
Glad to hear you have enjoyed it!

Where did you have it serviced? I recently had a customer bring me two of his Omegas because he was fed up with Omegas service. He was forced to have a dial replaced on an old VERY SENTIMENTAL watch that he inherited.

Had it serviced at an independent, had a bad experience with Omega many years ago and would rather not send it back to them.

not sure what Omega would charge for a seamaster service now but I paid £250, this may be slightly higher if a polish was requested, but I confirmed with the watchmaker beforehand that I did not want any polishing or refurbishing of anything and requested the watch be cleaned and movement service.

Scuba that's a beauty! I finally got my speedy back yesterday and guess what. It still has the same problem I sent it off to be fixed. Picked it up, brought it home and of course wound it. It ran for 2 hours and quit.

Back to Omega tomorrow. They clearly dropped the ball and 1st bad service I have ever had. It was serviced at Swatch in PA. 800 bucks worth..... Al

Watch looks great. That was about same length of time for me. Bought '98 & serviced in 2014.

I was opposite though - issues after service at an independent & had to go to boutique in Glasgow to get sorted.

That s a beauty colpol. Mine just wont hold a charge so to speak. I wind it 40 or so times and a couple hours its dead. Took it back to Omega dealer this afternoon, they said they will send it back.

I love that blue faced seamaster you have! :)

Thanks - I love the Watch.

Same issue as me. Got watch back from service & in first week it stopped twice on my wrist. Went back to original servicer who said no issue after they tested. Then same thing happened again. Omega boutique took the Watch & resolved under the warranty (original servicer was omega certified). Zero complaints on professionalism/ service from boutique

Well, received my Speedy Back yesterday, this was the second time I had to return it. I pointed out that the bezel was not lined up correctly and when I received it back this time guess what. Still off by almost a quarter of a inch. Back it goes again tomorrow.

Just shows that Omega's Swatch group repair center is not doing any quality control or much of it anyway. They should of caught that easily. In addition, the Omega dealer didn't check it either before calling me and saying my watch was ready for pick up.

I hope it at least runs more than 3 hours this time, we will see.

Am VERY Disappointed in Omegas service, I should of been able to send this in and get it back right, the 1st time. Here we go with round three....

Took the watch back today, presented it to the office manager... yep, the watch still runs about 5 hours and quits after 40 turns of the crown. Lady said I need to keep it on a watch winder of all things. I politely said its a 861 movement and manual wind only. She also said she "checked" it last time it came back from Swatch and it ran a day and a half. I asked her then why it only ran for 4-5 hours when I had it? Good Grief!

Thanks for letting me Rant a little. Hope I didn't break any rules in here... :) Al
