Need some new tools. Suggestions please.
Ive got a Bergeon 6111 spring bar tool and bergeon 30081-S09 screwdriver set from Otto frei.
Its been so long since I got them Im not even sure what I had them for. LoL. After poking around on some threads it seems that these aren’t the proper “square cut” “tee cut” or whatever the correct name is. These are just tapered. For example, just sticking it in the slot of my Tudor pelagos its sloppy and hits the top edge only. Which will inevitably mar up the screw from the twisting motion. Im trying to prepare for my (fingers crossed) hopefully soon new incoming 126660 deep sea. Ill be adjusting the bracelet, playing with removing the divers extension and possibly one day removing the bracelet to put on an Everest/rubber b when they become available. I also saw someone mention a 4.5x loupe? I could use that as well so its not as hard on the eyes trying to do this work. Im a tool nut and prefer to have good tools for anything that im doing. So I think im looking for 4.5x loupe/headset Proper screwdrivers Diff spring bar tool? Thanks for the help |

Unless you really want one, the Loupe is clumsy and only tends to highlight otherwise unseen flaws. Some magnifying glasses may be more useful if you are not doing movement work and only need to see things better.
Hollow ground screwdrivers are available, but many who use them grind the ends themselves for a fit they prefer. This goes for many close-work hobbyists and professionals in many applications. Nothing wrong with the spring-bar tool you have. Some prefer the tweezer style but you need to take things apart a lot to justify them.

I ended up getting a set of 2.5x power magnifiers (hood) with 8” focus range.
1.60 horotec hollow ground for the screws. I can actually use the magnifiers for other projects as im getting older. Such as projectile launching devices etc.... so not a total waste. |
