I've tried both on and have the SubC. I have flat 6.5" wrists and the Sub is plenty comfortable and proportionate. The glidelock is long but its centered on the bottom of my wrist and is not a bother at all.
I was worried about the thicker caseback but on the wrist there is barely a difference in appearance or feel. Will post some shots of it for reference.

The 4 and 5 digit model cases look more aesthetic than the plump maxi cases to me

I agree. More elegant imho. I’d go for a maxi case model if the dial was larger. But the dials on 6-digit models are exactly the same size as on 5-digit models. That kills it for me.

The Sub would win in a fight. The GMT has a faster car, but they are both lady killers...!

SD4000 is an excellent suggestion for reasons noted above.

Clasp is the same size (on the back, part on your skin) on each watch, that is the part that touches your wrist. The only thing bigger about the sub clasp is the outside of the clasp Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I’ve owned both and prefer the feel of the GMT. Less protruding caseback puts the GMT completely flat on my wrist. I also like the smaller footprint of the easylock clasp vice the glidelock...find it wears a bit less clunky.

The main difference is the caseback, with the Submariner being thicker.
I don’t find that the lugs or the crown guards are substantially different enough to make the watch wear differently. The other main visual aesthetic is the markers on the bezel, make the GMT feel slightly larger. YMMV. |
