Any idea if the red "Seamaster" on the dial and tip of the seconds hand has been fade-proofed on these? I have a 2531.80 which I love to death but I am not a fan of the bezel or seconds hand fading. Was thinking to pick one of these up at some point.

I haven’t seen any fade on the ceramic smps yet. Perhaps they haven’t been out in the wild long enough...

I don't see how the bezel can fade - it is ceramic

I have had mine a week but don't see how the seamaster script or the tip of the second hand are going to fade from the current red

Everytime i see the new SM I feel the exact same way about it. Its a stunning watch.

I mean in the past I have seen watches and thought wow thats nice and then next time you see it you think meh... the SM is a winner esp at the price point. Having said that I was offered one at 10% off rrp from an AD but I am holding out for 20% ... or as close to that as possible

Tried that on today myself. It’s a great looking watch! I was pleasantly surprised.

They had all the variants (except grey face with blue insert) at the South Coast Plaza boutique.

I went black.

Wish I got blue.

However, I’m 100% certain if I got blue, I’d wish I got black.

They are both just so nice.

I went blue because I've had several black divers in the past and wanted something different. After almost a week on the wrist, I can say the blue looks so good with so many different variations depending on the lighting conditions. The dial/bezel combo because they are both ceramic do create an great mirror effect, as does the laser-etched wave pattern. Dial goes almost light blue in artificial light. Not that it mattered to me but blue seems to be more the design code of the SMP 300 but I'm sure not everyone would agree with that.
