AP 15202 "Jumbo" durability

I've only had it two months, but so far it has been on my wrist:

- Skiing (16 days so far)
- Glissading with ice axe
- Mountain hiking with crampons
- Drinking (semi-unruly)

Certainly not fragile in any way - not a Rolex or a GShock but short of a massive shock, no problem. Only slight difficulty is time setting with the tiny crown.

I love this watch. Cost a lot, but it is by far my favorite.

It’s the last activity - “Drinking (semi-unruly)” I’d be most concerned about!

All kidding aside, it’s nice to read that: 1) you’re actually wearing your Jumbo; and 2) you’ve put it through the paces without issue.

Cheers!

I'd like to add picking up dog poop as another dangerous activity I have put my daily beater Jumbo through. No problems so far!!!

Exactly. It is incredibly annoying when people post how fragile it is and most of them don't even own a 15202. I've owned mine for awhile now, no issues at all and I wear it like any of my other watches.

I wear mine all the time when hiking / biking never had any issue.
I agree mostly negative critics come from people who don’t own one.

I love this photo; RO Jumbo matched with cycling gloves from Aldi! An amazing watch in a real world situation, so refreshing to see after all those photos on instagram of nice watches with Louis Vuitton luggage and hypercars.

I would be careful. Dropped mine on the floor when passing through security check in the airport. It was nasty drop as I have put it in the jacket (ironically not to be scratched by the tray etc.) and forgot about it when I was picking the jacket, it hit hard tile floor with some force...

Have one deep scratch on lungs and also minute hand fell off, on its way to service centre now, in a way it was proper end of 2020...

Too many confuse the beautiful finish with fragility.

Felt like a toy when I tried one one (SS), I wouldn't sneeze on it.

Have not seen that before. We need an “is it safe” thread on that!

Probably a good idea. Glissading is going down a snowy slope either upright (on your feet), very hard, or on your butt - arresting your speed with an ice axe held in the snow as you go down.
