First AP Incoming!!!

After some interesting discussion with a few members here in the last 24 hours I made the decision to pull the trigger on my first true "grail" watch, a brand new 15500ST from local gray dealer in MN! I am thrilled to be exploring AP and excited to add a non-Rolex to my collection.

Shout out to Jack @ Lakeside Diamond in Prior Lake, MN for helping me make this happen. He is a great resource for us MN watch nerds and was a pleasure to work with. And also a big thanks to this community for the great conversation over the last few days!

(Can't get the pic to post in the right direction haha)

It wasn't pretty, and I took a long time to come to grips with that. First watch I've paid more than $2k over retail for so it was tough to bite that bullet. But without any other feasible way to attain what is one of my only true grail watches I figured why not.

Oh no, sorry if that's how it came across. I paid WAY over retail for this (but right at market). I was saying that prior to this I had never paid more than $2k over retail and acquired 90% of my collection at MSRP.

Well at least if you ever have to sell you can probably recoup the majority of what you paid, maybe even all of it. Just enjoy the watch if it's one of your grails. It's a stunner.

At this point I'm definitely not worried about resale value, this one isn't going anywhere. Thank you very much!

Have you tried registering this watch with AP online for the 5 year warranty? Did your dealer say you could do so. If so, what would be the start of the warranty period. Reason I ask is that I am thinking of purchasing an unworn AP.

Nothing wrong with paying market price for something you want and can afford.

Thank you everyone for all of your kind messages and especially for all of your help as I was learning more about AP. I completely agree with what many have said, pulling the trigger now is going to allow me to enjoy this watch for years that I wouldn't have if I had tried to get it at retail. As much as I hate paying the premium, I am not selling it any time soon so I don't need to worry about resale value.

Thanks! I have a 7.75-8" wrist, so I typically wear anything 40mm+. However, I think 41-42mm is perfect for me.

I don't think BT is going to call me anytime soon as I have no buying history with them. All my APs were purchased from online dealers. Oh well.
