Speedmaster Accuracy
I love my newly acquired Speedmaster but the accuracy is terrible after wearing it daily for a month. Currently it is running 2 minutes faster after only 2-3 days. However, haven’t seen it gain anymore time since.
Is this normal? |

Mine runs plus 4 a day. They are easy to regulate, any watchmaker can do a quick adjustment. Being under warranty, I would bring it in to you local boutique or AD and see what they can do.

I didn’t buy from a boutique or an AD. Purchased a full set from the grey market. Can I just bring it in with the warranty card? I have to check again but don’t even thing it’s dated at all.

No offense intended, but it seems unlikely that this is what happened. I offer that you may have recorded information incorrectly during those first 2-3 days. Caliber 1861 normally performs with pretty good stability and precision, but it can be luck-of-the-draw, and some examples can vary more than one might expect. My observations with my Speedmaster Pro (six years old) show that if I wear it and rest it dial-up, it loses a couple of seconds per day, and if I wear it and rest it crown-up, it gains a couple of seconds per day. Knowing this is very handy because I can keep the displayed time reasonably accurate (compared to a reference time) by simply resting it one way or the other overnight |

To be honest, I forgot how many days but I just noticed it’s two minutes fast. I read somewhere that if I rest the crown facing down, the time should slow down? I just reset the time again. Will track if it happens again. Thanks |

My brand new FOIS with 1861 is running +2s/day, so I would say it's not normal.
