I think this is an improvement as well, the Roman numerals clutter the dial when you compare the two. Still no hand color to differ the running seconds from the chrono function, which is a design flaw IMO.

Mike I absolutely love the remake. I had the privilege of trying on a few of the old models at the Dresden boutique last summer. That watch is incredible.

The roman numerals fill dead space on the dial. It's a busy watch so I don't think the designers were really going for simplicity. The sec hand is blued on the left subdial while the chrono hand is polished in the center.

It is a nice piece I'm fortunate to wear. The new model should be even nicer.

The dial is one thing of beauty and then you see the depth of the movement and it wows you that much more. Love the datagraphs

Lange just upgraded their Datograph with bigger case, more PR, AB/AUF indicator, better movement, bigger date, revised dial. Normally there's something slightly amiss when you enlarge a model but IMHO Lange did an amazing job on this revamp.

Absolutely agree with you Ken. I much prefer the old model, both size wise and with the Roman numerals. It was quite a heavy watch already and to have a larger size will IMO make it a bit top heavy and uncomfortable.

Plus, for my tastes, it looks a bit too plain now without the Roman numerals......and I can't say I have any real need for a power reserve.
