Watches aside, Omega make far superior boxes.

Don’t! That is, if you don’t need the funds

That's a superb journey. I'd keep the Sub. It'll be nice to go back & forth between oyster & OF.

So I know you have the Rolex bug (as do I), don't forget that there are some other great watches out there.
I'm looking to get that same exact rose gold daytona on OF, so hearing you only had to wait 4 months gives me hope that my wait won't be so long, either.

From speaking to my AD, I think an OF Daytona is likely to come in. Though I was “guided” towards the less in demand dials (from their waiting list).

Though in comparison to a Panda, which I was originally hoping for, there’s not much of a premium over list for an unworn 2024 watch on the grey market.

Hence my impatience got the better of me and I went that route.

I think I may keep my Sub if I can to wear when perhaps a RG Daytona may not be a good idea. I paid list for it £7700 last year. So hopefully it’ll not drop too much beyond that.

You said you were relatively new to Rolex, and now you are interested. In all new areas of interest, people tend to chase what they think is what they want. Usually based on what they read or get influenced into thinking. NOT usually based on their years of experience in the new subject matter area.

What I'm saying is... listen to a few of the old pros on here, not what insta, tic, and YoTu are "telling" you. Then go make your own decisions. Long way around the barn, I'm telling you to take some time and learn. There is a lot more to Rolex than chasing popular models and the such.

Omega makes a solid nice watch, bu the Rolex world is different, so careful on all the trading/selling. If you need to sell the sub due to the $$ side of it, well, it is what it is.

IF you do not, then I strongly suggest wearing both watches for a year before making that decision that I'm betting 95% you would regret. Good luck and welcome to Rolex, that's just my .02 and I genuinely hope it helps you.

You did the opposite journey that I did... started with a 16013 Datejust, sold it and wound up with a new Seamaster. I consider Omega and Rolex in the same realm as BMW and Porsche.
Both make nice cars, but every BMW guy is secretly a Porsche man.

The prices for the new Seamaster 300s are interesting right now.

Black SM 300m wave dials were hovering in the low 3's for awhile last year, but have been slowly creeping up. I got mine for $3100 second hand two months ago, but they are starting to push $4000.

The green, blue and blue/grey versions seem to go for a few hundred less. The white dials I've seen sell for the same or slightly more than the black.

Eventually I'd like to go back to Rolex, but the market manipulation and restricted supply is quite sickening.

Thanks for the comments.

Super pleased with the Daytona, I’ve not taken it off since I’ve had it and have and plan to wear it daily.

The sub is in its box, feeling sorry for itself, the only time I can see myself wearing it is when a RG Daytona may attract unwanted attention.

The sub is more likely to attract unwanted attention in my opinion..... But I would be enjoying both of those... both lovely
