5711/1R winning...But how do we measure what we like? It's all subjective. What factors do we take into account before we vote?

Personally I'll go with aesthetics and "wearability" (not a word).

The 5711/1R is by far the more elegant, wearable, and well balanced watch. BY FAR.

Wanna hear something? I passed on it in 2017.
And for some reason I've ordered a 5980/1r a few months ago.

Yes. I am a confused idiot.
The 5711 is a better watch.

Yup and the outcome also depends on whether we vote based on a clean sheet vs factoring in what we have got already...

Before your time on here. There’s no point bringing this all up again. Sorry.

Correct.

Personal experience 5711/1R is so much better. Just had it on yesterday. Didnt feel like a chunk of gold on my wrist.

The 5711 will always win in polls because it has broader appeal.

Too many people like thin watches and less complicated watches.

Not me. :) But that's the market / the general appeal, so I get it.

That's why the premiums on 5711's are a higher % than other premiums.

That said, due to the impending cancellation of the 5980/1R, it's commanding an insane premium on the secondary market. Word on the street is that it'll be replaced with a 5990/1R.

My knickers are vibrating of the thought of a 5990/1R. I'll scream down the phone to my AD to get me that.

I also want the 1A, but that's sure as !@$% impossible nowadays. The 1R's price range leaves some people behind that will have to decline it. Also in an economic downturn (hoping here!), it would mean less people would seek this watch out.

The 5990/1A is much easier than the 5711/1A to be honest. :)

But yes, I'm down for a nice ultra-heavy 5990/1R.

I'm hoping they'll do a 5990/1P for the 45th Anniversary of the Nautilus in 2021. I'm so down for that. :D

I love the look of the 5980 but the comfort factor means the 5711 wins hands down. I had a 5980 in steel and got rid of it bec it just hurt my wrist..bad trade but is what it is. 5726 is the biggest Nautilus I can wear comfortably.

Too heavy. Great for a night out / event, but to wear that daily would kill me a little bit inside.

I prefer the 5980/1R but the 5711/1R wears better.
