They advertise a Seiko I wanted to purchase, it’s a limited edition and the price was aproximately 100 (whatever the symbol is) over MSRP, which I am willing to pay plus about 80 for shipment. They take my order, and explain it has been sent to the dealer. Then, I recieve the following reply from the delaer which DECLINED to sell me the watch. The reason? Shipping to the US was “too expensive”. They cited a cost of 120. They did not ask if I was willing to pay the extra, (which I was) just said: “Nope”.

Shame on Chrono 24 for advertising this piece (with a stated shipping price) and shame on the dealer for not even inquiring if I was willing to pay an additional 40 to receive it. Don’t buy from either of them.

The shipment to the USA is verry expensive, cost 120;€.

Send him (another) e-mail and tell him this. What a fool.

Aren't there other dealers who are selling this watch?

Hiya Paul,
The real problem I see on C24, is people listing things they don't have and/or cannot get. I have been told that many "dealers" have even been removed from C24 for this practice. Furthermore, many say they "forgot" to delete an ad after selling it. They leave it up just to keep the inquiry lines open.

Playing devils advocate- could he be informing you it’s more expensive than originally quoted?

Had same issue with a Japanese seller of a 114270. Shipping quoted at $64 on C24. After contacting him about the watch was told shipping would be $220.
