1990 Date-Just Engraved Case back-Hard to find replacement & value effect?

Near new condition 1990 Date-Just with Engraved Case back-How hard to find a replacement back? How does the engraving affect the value by percentage if left as it is? How difficult to remove the engraving (hopefully, someone here has had that done)?

Thanks for any suggestions. Ed

Barely at all, easily polished off. Replacement would be around $100-200 on ebay used

Yep, we have a DIY in the Reference Library.

If you want new, now days they are somewhat generic with one back fitting several models. Any Dealer with a parts account should be able to order you one.

Thanks for the advice...It was a retirement presentation with company logo and his name...He added links, wore this watch just one day, put it up and never used it...It's like a time capsule it's so crisp...I hate removing the engraving, but I may leave that up to the next owner. Ed
