It's a great watch, good choice. I don't think they are that hard to find in ADs, ring a few and see.

And they're practically the same price as a SS 5711 now too!

at this rate the prices could get upside down and people are going to have to flip an R to fund an A.

I understand that the supply is rather limited at one or two pieces per annum per AD and that there is excess demand and generally waiting lists (albeit around 12-18 months, rather than the several years associated with the all-steel variant).

With that said, Berry's appear to have one in stock...

https://www.berrysjewellers.co.uk/wa...et-watch-p5397

Run...don't walk...5.5% price increase is due on 1 September 2017...

Have you tried Tarratt, their website shows them as having one in stock:

You can also try and discuss the purchase with a few grey market dealers;

https://www.blowers-jewellers.co.uk/...s-577111r-001/

https://www.watchcentre.com/product/...1-1r-001/15103

Let us know how you get on...I'm sure we'll keep up the hunt...

Are you visiting the EU soon/have a limited timeframe/concerned with the 5.5% increase, etc? It's also worth noting that the UK is, for now, materially less expensive than the broader EU - as much as 14.1% on the annual calendars (GBP 34,820 vs EUR 44,610 (GBP 40,529.06) in Dublin).

Whoa, those prices are crazy! £42K and then a price rise to come. So glad I got mine already.

Hard to remember exactly, but I am pretty sure that Blowers Jewellers had this same piece listed at £37,500 a few days ago...UK list price is £37,040 at the moment (i.e. before the 5.5% increase) I believe...I would suggest there is a space for some negotiation...

But I was surprised to learn how hard these pieces are to get hold of...

If not for the 5980/1r, I'd be interested in the 5811/1r

It looks like no one is trying to undercut to get the sale these days but rather try to match the highest price they see out there, and WC and WF will provide those markers, and daring each other to go higher and higher. I'm an owner so making some nice bank but it's got me feeling uneasy.

Really amazing watch guys ! and I wasn't a patek fan in the beginning, actually it will be my first patek :) after having APs. However, I am not looking to pay the premium price :) I am trying to find it in a EU Ad so I can get the VAT back with a little bit more discount.

I waited about 4-5 months (for the 5711/R).

Hmm... less than I thought. What's the premium on the "regular", you can PM if that's not public info.

To be honest I didn't even think it was that long for a PM....they actually offered me one and I wasn't even looking. The 5712R was $43000
