Chicago GTG Round Two

I believe it is time for another GTG. I am thinking July 8 or 15? We could meet @ TWC or again on the north side. Let me know everyones feelings on this. I know there were many members who couldn't make it last time (NATO, Work, etc..) I am not set on either date in July. Let me know who is in! Talk soon!

I'd be in. Either date. Swiss Fine Timing on 645 N. Michigan is an AP dealer, and as I recall they also carry Hublot, GO, FP Journe and Mille. Just a thought. If we go to Michigan Ave, sure we can stop in at the Rolex TourNOOOO "boutique" and make fun of the idiots there, but maybe we could go to a real watch shop too. I also would be up for James and Sons again.

Good to see you on here Jon. Mr. H is also in. As we discussed maybe even just a place to get together and show all our swag!

I think we should skip watch shops and just get together at a nice place for drinks and food. A place where we feel safe bringing our pieces and playing with them would be ideal. I can't on the 15th but the 8th works. Who else is in?

The 8th is fine for me. I agree with Submarino in that watch shops shouldn't necessarily be the focus. Good friends, good times, etc, etc. I'd suggest a nice bar/pub on the South Side, but I do not want to scare off those who might fear such a venue.

The Weathermark Tavern on South Michigan is a great South Side locale, though (and very near my home). My home is actually a nice venue, too.

Whatever, though, I'm up for anything.

There is a restaurant call Acadia in south loop which is quiet and safe, they have a pretty nice bar area with good sandwiches.

Can we say we have an agreement for the 8th? Or is the 15th better?

Let's do the 8th. Acadia looks and sounds awesome! Never been there but their website is ultra amazing! If some of you don't like the idea of Acadia we could go to Filini at the Aqua building or The Palm at the Swissotel. Your call guys! I am in either way.

Let's start at Acadia, which is new to me, and work from there.

On the 8th. Hal, you better bring that GMT.

You got it!!! It's on a khaki nylon strap. Check my thread on the vintage section of TRF. https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=241035
