So, in January I ordered a grey leather hornback strap from AP. I did this as I've never been a big fan of the rubber strap for comfort. It arrived after just 7 months! and today I went to have it put on my watch. My first surprise was that it wasn't a hornback as requested and my second surprise was that it wasn't the finish on the leather that I'd requested either. However, I'm actually pretty happy with the result. So here's a photo, the most important thing that they got perfect is the Leo Messi grey that I ordered, in the photo it's hard to tell but it's actually a perfect match with the grey dial.

Even though its not what you ordered and you waited a long time....I think it's a GREAT look.

Do you know what strap it actually is?

Nice combo! However, you do need a hornback strap on that beauty.

Looks like a perfect match!

After a 7 month wait and getting the order almost totally wrong, did they offer you anything?

It's a custom order from AP so it isn't a strap from an existing watch. My dealer seems to have a contact at AP who will allow orders for any combinations of existing AP colour ways and leather finishes. Not all dealers seem to be able to get these straps, for example Marcus in London are adamant that AP does not provide this service. I've had custom straps made by AP in the past and it usually works very well.

Yes! they offered me a latte while they fitted the strap which I was happy to accept.

Also while I wait another 7 months for the hornback that I wanted this strap appears to be free of charge but I didn't ask for that, the dealer is very good and I always know that they look after me where they can.

I think you've found the perfect strap for that piece.

Any chance of some outdoor pics taken by someone else with you wearing the watch?

Added to my favourites for future reference!
