It is, but I think a lot of the pricing has been kept to maintain the fictional hierarchy of metals. When I started following the metals market nearly 30 years ago platinum was always more expensive than gold, but that hasn't been the case for going on 12 years now.

Makes no difference. Those looking at the low end pay more via jewelry purchases. Those at the high end have already spent enough they'll likely get a discount on that iced out piece.

Now I know how much I need to save up for that PT DD40. Tallies with what a local AD told me. Too much, I fold .

.

I can confirm all Rolex sites worlwide publish the MSRP for every model in the collection, not only USA.

"Price on demand" mention is now gone ...

The most astonishing bit of knowledge I've gleaned from this thread, is that you can pay £484300 for an Omega.

For some reason, I recently noticed that it looks like Blancpain has removed all pricing. Or made it extremely difficult to find anywhere.

It’s also a function of platinum being a more pure material used with 92.5% of the metal being platinum vs gold being “only” 75% pure with 18k. Since more precious metal is used, the price is higher.
