LOL - there are literally going to be 100s of millions of ppl off work and lost their jobs and you think a stupid SS $12k watch is holding value?

Mate I'll tell you every single one of these hyped pieces are going back to MSRP. Its only been 6-7 weeks. No economic data has really come out yet. Just wait.

The Hulk will go up will keep its price or even go up, it is only a matter of time that it is discontinued for another year.

There a bloody hundreds of them with stickers. Because people have been mooting it’s demise for about 3 years, people have been hoarding them and keeping them in as new condition for all that time.

Do you think this crisis is not as bad as that in 2008? You know that Daytonas and other watches could be be had at or below retail for several years after that time? Just curious why you are so sure things will be different this time when the crisis is likely worse..??? Give us your wisdom as to why it's not going to happen.

Me neither...
That watch was going for $7000 at some point because nobody wanted it.
Then IG came, hype ensued, prices went up, speculation on discontinuing got added, prices went up again etc.

Didn't like it at $7K, sure as hell not going to like it at $14K

The steel models like my batman are going to lower their price slightly, perhaps the Daytona less because of its high demand, the Hulk is the one that I think can hold its price due to its discontinuation

You are incorrect. The 5 digit 16610 LV was the 50th Anniversary Submariner.

The 116610 LV Hulk is just a normal production stainless Submariner with green dial/bezel. There is no advertising I have ever seen labelling the Hulk as an Anniversary Sub.

Keep playing the patience game. Greys that have hoarded thousands of Hulks are likely sweating bullets as they know values are plummeting and right now nobody is buying. The watch landscape is doing a quick 180 degree turn as we speak.

I don’t think there will be an almighty price reduction in ‘hot’ Rolex models as a result of this crisis.
At least in the UK the price of a used white face ceramic Daytona have remained unchanged in price and i think this will continue due to demand and there are plenty of people who can still afford to purchase this watch.
I have recently sold a used hulk in mint condition and accepted £11500 with plenty of takers wanting the watch as the hulk remains in strong demand.
However, subs ,gmt,s etc may lose a little,i do not think the massive reduction down to msrp is ever going to happen as there will always be people who have the ready money and desire to purchase at grey market prices.

also remember variables that come into play when looking at pricing such as box/card or not, condition and year - its easy to say the prices are X when using a 7 year old model with no card vs a 2020 w/ everything

apples to apples comparisons for data points so to speak

full disclosure: I am a Hulk owner and variables notwithstanding I love it so no worries either way on my end

The Hulk was a "dog" for years and many dealers couldn't give them away, even with a steep discount. It wasn't until the past 4 or 5 years when everyone hopped on the SS sport watch bandwagon that it became in demand. Two main reasons; people wanted it because they seen others who owned it, and people wanted it so they could flip it for an easy 5K profit. I have seen more Hulks flipped here than any other watch. There is a very minute number of members here who actually keep the watch long term.

Had mine since 2017, it’s got more than it’s fair share of marks and scratches from wearing it regularly.

Its been going out of production for years though, every year you hear the same thing
