Blue dial fatigue

Who has blue dial fatigue? That Lange Odyssey blue dial is nice but for me I am like "meh" another blue dial.

I do have VC Overseas blue on back order too lol!

Salmon is the new blue. But I’ll always dig the blue because it’s the dominant color in my wardrobe. So for me, blue dials will never go out of style. Or maybe I need to stock up on salmon colored clothing.

Agreed, lots of blue out there these days, I can appreciate people feeling fatigue about it. Still, I prefer it, especially on white metal. Always seems timeless and elegant to me.

Sick of blue dials. Holding out for lavender, chartreuse, or verdigris.

Blue is the new Champagne for some brands...

And there are so many hues out there.

If the Odysseus had a salmon or golden dial and fixed the bracelet & clasp by making it a real integrated bracelet and thinner than it currently is, it would have been good. Looks like a dress watch with a bracelet smacked on as a afterthought. Weird nautilus ears pusher for date advances on the right side case flank but from photos on the wrist it appears it is unnoticeable or less than it currently is shown on photos. Sure small production numbers but probably will go the boutique only route to make it exclusive to push sales of their other watches to obtain this for 1-2 years then will be sold to all of their AD痴 once the watch stops selling. I thought ALS said they wouldn稚 do a SS sports watch and don稚 have pressure from Richemont?

If I had salmon colored eyes, I'd be all over that 5270P!

Agree Lots of blue lately.

For me, Not all of them have a timeless quality.

Sometimes it is a trendy blue and other times they get it right.

Patek nails it in the nautilus and in the travel time 5524 imho
Fpj hits a bullseye with the chrono bleu
And rolex hits the nail on the head in their submariner especially the smurf.

I haven't had a new blue dial in years, last few have been green, grey, yellow, black, so I'm after a DJ41 blue now, went to a few ADs today and no chance of seeing a blue one, in fact they only had 1 or 2 in the entire store, half the sales team must have never even seen a ceramic SS Rolex on display ever if there are no DJ41s even on show now.

I think the blue has been way overdone. I much prefer white, not stark, which is not too common these days. Many blues are too dark and detail on the dials is lost.

I think the premium we are paying for blue is over-done, it is just a nice departure from the black and white dials we are used to. I am not a fan of the very blue dials but more the darker or interesting blues (5524).

Like others, I tend to gravitate to blue because my wardrobe is predominantly blue tones. I don't think I would pay a premium for a blue dial in the grey market though, for say a AP RO or Nautilus.

I'm a rare/unusual dial and an openworked dial kinda guy.

Sadly, not enough sport watches in that realm.

The watches I'm hunting next are all blue, even the dressy ones.

I can't seem to get enough of these blue watches.

I wish the higher end brands made more of these. Its almost guaranteed in an RM, but only the few openwork models from AP. I would take a skeleton dial over a colored one any day!

I am bored if not put off by most of the recent Johnny-come-lately blue-dial SS releases. At the same time I continue to very much like some blue dials and prefer blue over green by a mile. I don't like the Hulk, for example, and I can't see myself getting tired of the blue dial I own any time soon.

Love the darker dial. Reminds me of a wallpaper from Cole & Son I almost put in my guest bathroom.

Great thread. This was my recent change of pace purchase... blue accents, but dial something different.

I get that all watches will look better in the metal than a picture.. but this one in particular has a such a huge jump, the way the light plays on the dark rhodium dial.

And bear, that GS is amazing.
