Still getting a 5711R ?

Hello everyone

I live in Central Europe and have an AD that my family has had good contact with for 20 years. The relationship has always been genuine and AD has always been honest with us.

About 4 years ago I decided to line up for a PP 5711R. Sometime in December last year, I was told by the AD that I will get the watch in 2022 and that I was "next in line". Then PP dropped the bomb in January, they discontinued it and it felt like I just fell on the finish line.

Now to my question; I went past my AD yesterday for another matter and according to him I will still get my 5711R in 2022 even though it is discontinued. Can this really be true or is it that my AD may be a little wrong now? I will of course be extremely happy if this is the case, but for me it feels unreal that a watch that is discontinued can still be delivered. Does anyone have experience of something similar and can deny or confirm that it can possibly work like this?

It’s called a “run out” for a reason… to my knowledge it’s not a hard stop on deliveries.

If you get it, that's some pretty good luck.

I've seen a few listed 2021-2022 5711R have a slightly different movement, and checking on the Patek website they have a new movement that hacks!

Was the change recent? Is it a transitional movement before the end of series?

With some dealers asking for half a million quid for these now you'll be doing damn well to land one at retail now.

It was released in 2019 in the 3 remaining 5711, the 5212A and the Alarm 5520P. It is the evolution of the 324 caliber and is meant to replace it from now on (in new models), https://www.hightime-reviews.com/pat...aliber-review/

Good Luck, and keep us posted. And if you get it, go buy a lottery ticket immediately. :)

Cheers,

I am in the same situation, was promised a 5711 1r in 2022 and am first in line. Some ADs will still get a piece, they need to beg with Patek….so yes, still possible, but I don’t think I will get mine. I hope yours will work out…

Because my AD has called Patek numerous times and still has not received confirmation…Patek often doesn’t say NO, they just don’t say anything…which ends up being the same thing.

Okay. From what I understand my AD has no direct contact with Patek aswell but he seems quit (very) sure that my piece will arrive during 2022.
Hope he is right. Really like the 5711R but am not willing to pay the price on the second hand market. Neither am I willing to sell it regardless what price someone is offering me.

250k-300k GBP is probably a realistic indication of what dealers are achieving for them atm

I recently sold mine to a dealer for just under 200k GBP
