Elephant or Vampire
Hi all, seen all the threads with regard to the 44 Ti, its a beaut but my budget will only stretch to a Vampire or Elephant....Ill be new to AP and have seen some great threads on " things to know " before you buy.
Trouble is, i wan thinking about a Vampire then saw an Elephant. Thoughts would be appreciative Cheers Darren |

i would wait until you can get the 44 Ti. Thats what you seem to really want after all. At these price points anything less than your first choice doesn't make a whole lot of sense and sometimes waiting is better.

^ yes wait and get what you want, biggest mistake is go get one by default, I did it with the PP 5726, preferred bracelet but for diversity and because of price chose on strap, mistake, didn't get enough love and got sold, at least I didn't loose money on it, you will on either of these 42's

I like the Elephant. Maybe buy one used and then graduate to the TI in future without too much pain.

I’d also wait and save and get the Ti44. It is an incredible piece and no point is settling if that is the one you want. If not perhaps get the Elephant and when you can swap up to the Ti.

Do you like grey? If yes, the Elephant. If not, the Vampire. But like others, will recommend to check out the 44mms ROO before deciding.

I agree although out of the two you put forth, I would definitely choose the elephant

I agree with the comments, and would personally wait for the Ti44. If you must purchase, I’d choose the Elephant between those two. Good luck!

I really like the 'elephant' a lot. The 44s are awesome and I can't imagine not having mine. I've had 42s before and really believe that the 44 design is a big upgrade however the elephant is definitely one 42 that I'd buy.
I'd get the elephant now as your 1st AP and see how you feel about adding a 44 later. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Granted I’ve never owned a 42 but in trying out I found the 42 and 44 are two different beasts and where as I never liked the 42 (apart from the diver) I loved the 44.
I maybe in the minority but due to the pushers and contrasting bezel I find there wear so much different to each other. My point is for some the 42 might be the ideal stepping stone but for me personally I’d hold off for the Ti |

Cheers guys for the input, tbh I haven't looked at prices for a Ti44 but as I have a YM2 as a daily wearer the 42 may look at little small and less appealing.........Uk prices are immense so I may wait until im in the USA early next year and hunt down a Ti

After a year or so debating between the blue and the grey. I decided the grey would be the one. Once at the AD they put the black one on and i went home with the vampire that was not even an option the whole year contemplating between the blue and grey. But with any colour you cant go wrong. The tip from the AD was that black will allways be in fashion and the grey/blue might be temporary.. Good luck picking the best for you ;-)

I originally liked the elephant and the safari in 42 but after going and looking in person, the vampire was hands down my favorite. Looking in person and trying them on is the only way to decide.

Elephant all the way. And add a black rubber strap to it to rotate with the leather.

Both are nice, but the elephant seems more rare and looks incredible with the SS AP bracelet. Don't save up for a 44mm... the 42mm's look better IMHO!
