I just glanced at the two different numbers and no 18K on the clasp. Yes you are correct about the end pieces and the seller has to know the two numbers do not match up. ;)

Something is up. Clasp is quite old and has been polished/buffed enough to wear down the crown on the outside. The actual bracelet is also quite worn and used but the Gold isn't worn through like it would be if it was plated.
