Trade Daytona C for Patek 5167

Wanted some opinions on trading a white dial Daytona C for a Patek 5167.

Current collection includes GMT C, TT DJ, Stowa Marine & G Shocks.

Would appreciate all opinions either way.

Thank you!

I would not do that trade. The Rolex is the best looking Daytona so far. The Patek is nice but I prefer the Daytona.

In a NY minute. I would buy the PP and sell the Daytona. Depending on the condition you should be able to make some money on it.

Oh yeah - the GMT and Aquanuat would make a great pair. Why not get a Patek?

Don't think about that one. Just do it. You're trading up.

This was my thought as well. The Daytona is unworn. I was thinking I could do a trade for a NIB 5167 with my name on the papers.

The struggle is giving up a Rolex icon piece. I'm torn on which way to go because I love both pieces, but they are very different.

Thanks for all the opinions, please keep them coming!

Thanks! However, the other two would not come close to obtaining a 5167. The goal is to not add more cash to the deal.

Nope. Trade the hottest model with 5167 doesn't make any sense to me. There are plenty of 5167 in circulation and can be obtained for a discount at any given time. Enjoy the Daytona C for while, 5167 is not going anywhere. Trade the other two if you really want 5167.

Thank you. But couldn't I trade the Daytona straight up for the 5167, which is a much higher priced watch? Then get the Daytona a few years down the road when used prices are more inline with reality?

Yea, sure can do that. My point was that Daytona C is hot and will stay hot for next couple of year(s). 5167 is not. I would keep the Day C, just my thought.

Trade for sure. You're getting premium for your Daytona C and we all know that absurd prices for Daytona C's will eventually go down whereas you will have captured your profit in a higher end watch.

Is this all a hypothetical or were you offered the deal? If offered and you are not in love with the 116500 then unload it. Daytonas are going down in price and selling for 16K NIB regardless of what crazy prices grey dealers are asking.

In a minute without a doubt. The Daytona C market is a bubble not going to hold these prices over the long haul. The 5167 isn't going any lower IMHO

I own both. And I have to give the edge to the Aquanaut. Right now it gets the most wrist time. It's my favorite watch at the moment. DayC is beautiful, but if you have to choose I'd go 5167

If you can get the 116500 at retail and find someone to trade you a 5167 in good condition then do it! There will way more Daytona's in the world than aquanauts.

Yeah why not if you want an aquanaut. It's a great watch.

You are looking at it the wrong way - keep the Daytona, get the 5167 and sell the rest.

That's weird....a TRF trusted seller bought my 5711 above MSRP and sold it within a week at 30% margin and has offered me a similar deal on the 5167??? Guess they just don't know where to find the bargains!!!
