I repent and I pulled it off! The BEAST!

Gents,

As some of you might know, I was seduced to the dark side, selling off my SD4K and go with the ladies watch, the AP Diver. Yes, it's beautiful (highly subjective) but my wrist awareness goes off the chart. Not sure if it's the cost or the delicate steel bezel?
Or delicate crisp lines between polish and brushed surfaces?
Or that slow beating 6hz movement (more jerky/jumpy than my $400 6R15 )?
Or that min hand shift when setting time?
Or that useless internal bezel?
Or maybe non existing lume?
Or the sound from ceramic bearing rotor?
OR MAYBE ALL??!

After several sleepless night, I decided. I repent. Sold it off after 1 week and back to the Rolex catalogue again. I owned SubC Date (16+ months, 2014) and SD4K (12 months, 2016). There's only 3 Rolex divers in the catalogue previously. With two owned, there's only one option. To go deeper. With my puny 6.75" wrist, I'm always doubtful I can pull off the DSSD. It's called the beast for some valid reason.

So I got the DSSD preowned at very good price and condition and oh boy, it fit well and not as bad as fora portray it. Once sized, with fliplock and single link removed, it fit wonder on my wrist. Weight and fit non issue. Mind you, my wrist is not huge or beefy by any meant.

It's glad to be back, boys. I love Rolex. Hope this honeymoon last long.
(there's a voice in my head saying "red text red text red text". Wonder what is it about...)

My old lover...

Looks good on you and imo looks better than the AP anyway.

Congratulations.

Wait until you try on the SD43 lol. I will wait for the "I repent and bought an SD43" thread in a few months.

Looks great. I understand the pull of Rolex. Glad you were able to see that the AP did not work and moved on. Many would agonize for months and in the end be right back.

One week?! How much of a hit did you take on the AP diver if you don't mind me asking?

I like both, honestly.

Better to have loved and lost than to have just lost.

I got the AP in LNIB condition at very good price and sold for few hundred bucks loss. But overall, still profit as it's compensated by sale of my prior SD4K.

I'm looking at Rubber B strap for this. Anyone recommended it? Read few reviews and mostly stick back with the awesome stock Oyster strap.

Great move imho. I've never liked AP watches at all. But it's YOUR opinion that counts, not mine. All the Rolex divers are awesome.

You want to be careful there, I don't think it's rated for water of any type unless you are at 12800ft. Any less and the water pressure won't put enough pressure on the seals to make it waterproof !!
