6.75 checking in, and 44 fits perfectly for me. give it a shot, cary, and you might be surprised. that being said, if your wrist is more round than flat, it might be harder to fit. and, even for me, the 1950s cases don't work as well as the other Luminors. |

Size.
Looks. Straps. Not as many out there. Something to change things up on the wrist. Various models (Rad, 1950). Just my .02. |

I have a collectors' mentality so I like to have lots of different pieces for different occasions. Whether it's sports jerseys, watches, diecast cars etc. I have an appreciation for different purposes, styles, etc.
I have a modest collection (enough to wear a different watch every day of the week). The Panerai really stands out. It looks like nothing else out there and will not be mistaken for anything else. I love it and even after acquiring my new AP ROO, the PAM still gets significant wrist time. On the wrist size note, I will say this: my 44mm PAM320 sits better on my wrist than my 42mm AP ROO (probably because of the enormous lugs). I actually like the fit of the Panerai (although it violates the 'you should be able to see flesh beyond the lugs on both sides when wearing a watch'). Even though the AP doesn't sit perfectly, it's such a stunning watch that I don't care.

Simple clean easy to read dial ( for my old damaged eyes). Add in I liked the ability to change straps, and often prefer a leather stap over a bracelet.
They fit the bill just perfectly. There are many brands I "love" ( Brequet), but I would not buy one, as much as they are beautiful, I could not truly appreciate the craftmanship & beauty without my glasses or loupe. I also went through a ton of Panerai watches. Bought, wore, sold and it didn't really cost me that much.

Every watch looks the same. But when you gained passion about a particular watch/brand. It will distinguish itself from others...

I'm new to Panerai for some of the reasons mentioned. I started with a couple of Rolex's--a sport watch and a Datejust. Then I decided to expand to Breitling with the Chronomat.
This addiction of watch collecting got me looking around, and the Panerai Radiomir caught my eye. What got me was it's unique design, large size and its high on the cool factor.
