Relumed or original?

Knowledgeable Ladies and Gents,

Relumed or not relumed?

This is the question!

Thank you so much

What exactly are we looking at? Why is there a translucent greying out around the lume plots? Did you do that, or someone else?

Irrespectively of who's done it, I wonder if these plots have been touched up, or even totally relumed.

Thank you!

I think it would help to have a real picture, not something you went over with MS Paint.

Based on the photo name, I would say relumed. :)

Sorry, I was the one naming the photo. Wrong assumption then.

Black lume? Lume is whitish, don't know what you mean. Dial was photoshopped black to hide any identification from the watch's seller. I do not want him to know I'm asking around about dial being relumed.

I’d say relumed, rectangular plots look heavy and uneven and 2 o clock one looks lumpy. That’s not even mentioning the bright white colour. Looks like new’ish luminova to me

I’d say impossible to tell from that pic and no further info. Color can be whitish and application look pretty ok for the period.

There is something fishy going on with that pic. Someone purposely blacking out the rest of the dial including the ROLEX font...makes me think it is an aftermarket dial. Also, the coronet looks a little suspect. Unless we can see the full dial for review....i am going to assume that this is a fake one.

It’s the potential buyer who masked it.

I'd say flip a coin. I don't see anything outstanding that makes it look relumed based on the one photo.

Because, as the OP stated: "Dial was photoshopped black to hide any identification from the watch's seller. I do not want him to know I'm asking around about dial being relumed."

New here, but I studied a lot of dials before I made my first purchase. Hard to tell-best case it could just be water soaked. How old is the watch? You can get more clues, of course, by comparing color (and texture) of the lume in hands the lume in the dial..IF they are both the same color, ask the seller if the lume can be acivated under bright light AND if the hands match the dial as far as brightness (or none at all, as may be the case).
