Nope - not a Divemaster. Just a Master Scuba Diver. I'm escorting a group to Bali who happen to be diving, so I'll have to bite the bullet and jump in with them. Wouldn't want them getting lost (like some others did resently)! Work is so demanding somtimes...

The GMT II is a great dive watch. The 120 clicks of the bezel allow me to time dives and steaks on the grill. I use a Suunto Cobra for my backup timer...

...for the dives, that is!

Here she is in Manado hanging out with a Nudie...

No worries about diving w/ a Rolex, as long as the bezel is graduated and unidirectional (so a GMT II would not do). Those are the only criteria, and obviously water resistance. The US Navy, UK Armed Forces, French Armed Forces, and several other countries, issued Rolex and Tudor watches as dive watches, both to divers and topside tenders (exclusively Tudor’s after about 1970, so I’m told). The US Navy stopped this (issuing Tudor’s) in the mid-70’s, but the watches remained in the NSN (Navy stock system) through the late 70’s and into the early 80’s. All of the Rolex disappeared quickly, but most folks knew little about a Tudor, so they just fell through the cracks for a number of years. I would guess somewhere in a cabinet on a ship, or in a warehouse, there are still a few watches laying around.

The Tudor Sub I received from a friend last year was his primary dive watch, and was issued to him in 1974, during his first years as a US Navy salvage diver. Nothing is more exciting than owning a piece of history, and preserving it for future generations.

Great pic Dave. Just less than 15 minutes into the dive and you've found a Nudi! Great stuff. Really sets off the colours of the Pepsi!

I'll have to get my Pepsi into the sea soon and post some complementary pics.

I'll work on it tonight. I haven't taken any pics of it since it came back from the RSC & my AD.

Recently got my PADI Open Water on a dive trip to Sharm (Red Sea)... Wore the trusty Sub LV, rented the gear..

Looking like the advanced PADI will be done, again in Sharm, in Feb 09

Double hose put the bubbles behind you. Parts are readily available, new silicone hoses di diaprhagm etc. They are bullet proof and ten feet tall. check out www.vintagedoublehose.com

I was certified on doubles many decades ago, tried the new plastic wonders, but they dont hold a candle to a properly tuned double. more so the new designed pheonix high pressure first stages.

Two close encounters with green turtles and several large cuttlefish today.

2 Dives, each multi-level computer controlled dives, around 55 minutes each, down to 15 and 18m respectively, just 20 minutes by boat from Kota Kinabalu, Malaysian Borneo. A wonderful set of islands comprising a marine park, and best of all, the jetty is 10 minutes from my apartment!

As usual, the Submariner performed exceptionally.
