I just saw a clip from Astaire & Roger's "Swing Time." "Top Hat" was great, but if I could "wish" myself into any movie role, at any time, it would be into Ginger's role in "Swing Time." I can't watch "Pick Yourself Up" without smiling at the happy perfection of their dance. "Never Gonna Dance" is an amazing dance number. And, of course, I would just melt to have Fred Astaire sing "Just the Way you Look Tonight" (one of my all-time favorite songs) to me.

Astaire and Rogers, together, personified elegant perfection in using dance in a film.

It is interesting that many of my favorite Frank Sinatra songs were cover versions of songs first sung by Fred Astaire.

Ann Bancroft (Mrs. Robinson in The Graduate, also played Helen Keller's teacher in the Miracle Worker, ). She had a marvelous range which enabled her to be great at drama and comedy. She feels like a loss to me.
