Boat Owners: Let's see Your Watercraft

With so many TRF members in Florida, California and Australia, I'm guessing that many of you own boats and spend time on the water. I live on a lake in Minnesota, and though technically a boat, my pontoon hardly qualifies as more than a piece of plywood floating on barrels. It is 20 feet long and has a 75 hp Mercury motor. Show us some photos of your pontoons, boats, yachts, ships or dinghies and the associated activities.

Not a boat owner [the captain's hat is mine though] but enjoy my friends water craft.

One of the more bizarre water toys, this is a simple steel pole with two wood disks on each end:

Can you guys see the pictures now?

By the way, my sled is a 36' Contender with triple 250s.

Next spring, I will be adding a tuna tower with controls to better find those elusive sails, dolphins and tunas.

I would go with you. Specially on the Gulf side (much calmer less prone to sudden storms).

I helped a friend take his 20' Mako to Nassau. That's 190 mile trip. We stopped at Bimini (which is 49 miles). Gassed up and turned the corner.

Great bottom fishing over on that side of the state.

WOW ! What do you fish with that ? This thing looks what they used to show in "Maimi Vice" but they would have 2500 pounds of that white powder in them . Some power you have hanging at the back of that beauty

There are a few good reefs(sunken ships) out of Daytona Beach, but if you want to get the big ones, you'll need to go to the edge, drops from 70 to 400 ft!I've never been there, too far for my dinggy!

Thank you.

We fish everything from 2 pound yellotail snapper to 500 pound swords (and once upon a time 300-900 pound tunas on the north side of the Port Lucaya, Bahamas). The boat is set up to take on almost any condition.

The idea behind the technology of the boat is, that you can venture 6 miles off shore and be safe enough to navigate in 6-8 foot seas. I have been in bad storms. One was so bad, that 3 waves crashed INSIDE the boat right by the front glass. The whole bow was covered by the wave. She took it like a champ. You get attached to a boat that responds for you and doesn't leave you stranded.

Can you tell that this is my favorite subject? Watches come a close second.

Was that aerial shot taken by the US Coast Guard before searching your vessel looking for ilegal aliens?

It's one of my partners in the ER. He's standing on a disk of wood on a metal spindle. How it works, I have no idea.

I don't like shark fishing. It is like pulling in dead weight.

Tuna on the other hand...... WOW. A 10 pound tuna can take you for a ride. I use lighter tackle to fight the fish more.

For the 100+ pound tunas, you have to chase them with the boat while you are fighting it. Otherwise, they can take all your line. And if you force the fish, it will snap the line. These fish are fought on 50-60 pound line.

Thanks, but I didn't take them. A friend took the pictures. I only use my camera phone. I don't have a lot of pictures while fishing. Only crappy phone pictures and when a friend brings a camera. Photography is not my forte.

Even the arial shot is a picture of a picture. It is a big picture and they don't let you reproduce it without the photographers permission. And he want $85 per picture.

I only keep what will be consumed. I hate the guys at the dock that over fish to seem like hot shots. And when you ask to see the big one.... it always gets away.

I eat them and give them away. The rest go back for another day.
