ref: knee replacement and hospital stay...
...I had a total knee replacement surgery on 28 Sep.
...I am still in the hospital with complications of a large blood clot. I still do not have my blood thinned enough, but the staff is working on it. ...I am taking 9 mg of Cumadin once a day and 150 mg of Luvinox twice a day. Pls forgive my spelling. ...the pain from the clot is unlike anything I have ever experienced. ...I am barely able to post this thread. Pls forgive my non-responsiveness to all PM's. I will attempt to reply to them once I am out of the hospital and moving around better. ...thanks to those of you that have called my wife to check on me to query my absence on TRF etc. Thanks to Fred's continued visits to the hospital and that great "french vanilla" coffee's! ...can't wait til I am feeling better. ...hope to be back on TRF soon. I had anticipated a short hospital stay and short absence from TRF, but it has been anything but that. ...I am scheduled to be released from the hospital on 21 Oct with follow-up therapy and blood monitoring. Stan. |

Hello Sir,
Hope you're filling better. I know how hard it is having this done. Did you do both knee? Just keep wearing that compression stocking and continue using that CPM machine. You'll be up and running in no time! Have a speedy recovery! |

I have faith that everything will work out (easy for me to say, right?), but I have a little history with stuff like this (see: my username).

...hello to all again...
...was released from the hospital late 21 Oct, after 24 long days in there.
...I am FINALLY home, hobbuling around. ...they finally got my blood level into a "therapeutic" range of 2.1. They like it to be between 2.0 and 3.0. Blood level measured 2.19 today. I have to take coomadin and this must be continually monitored. I have to go again on Monday for another blood test to check it. ...I also started local physical therapy today to strengthen/rebuild the leg muscles. ...THANK YOU to all the well wishers here on the forums. ...I have been working behind the scenes (as I feel up to it) to continue whacking away at the bad guys. Got a few tonight and a few while in the hospital on my lap top. ...please continue to keep me in your prayers as this seems to be a tuff one to recover from. Sincerely, Stan. |
