Interesting conversation.

The Vette will never be an exotic and I could be happy with either.

Love your perspective.

I actually am starting to think exotics are a lot of work.

Something to me said for a bullet proof Chevy.

I am betting that looking at the new C8 today is what people thought at first looking at the new C4 in 1984 and all the advances in technology etc from the previous version.
Have always wanted a Corvette since I was a little boy. I didn’t like the C7 when it first came out and now like it. It isn’t that I don’t like the C8 I do it just is going to take some time likely like it did all the way back in 1984.

That C8 looks nice. I’m just not not a Chevy guy though.

Well yea, the Corvette will never be an exotic in America just like a Ferrari or Lamborghini will never be an exotic in Italy or how a Bugatti will never be an exotic in France.

I can’t believe how good it is for the price. They did a great job.

Game changer IMO

Hard to compete with the performance you get for that value.

really ?? the percentage of Corvettes on the road here far and away exceeds the percentage of cars you mentioned in those respective countries.

To me something exotic means it came from a country far away. However, if we look at production numbers Lamborghini has capped their production for 2020 at 8,000. In almost 2 years (20 months) there were only 512 ZR1 Corvette Convertibles produced.

The point I'm trying to make is that you can't say the Corvette will never be considered an exotic/super car thanks to the ZR1.

You wouldn't say that Porsche would ever be considered an exotic or super car because they make almost 100,000 Macan's a year. Certain Porsche models would certainly fit that description just like a certain Corvette model (ZR1) certainly fits the description.

I really like how corvettes look.

C5 and up.

I had a c6, black with red leather interior, manual transmission.

But I learned about the stability control, and how the car can automatically brake, one tire a time to help you control it.

Then I read that there have been accidents when this system glitches or something, you’re on the highway, and the front right tire brakes with fill force, throwing you and the car into a barrier or another car.

It scared me, and when the dashboard said “service stability control” I called to see how much it costs to fix.

They said $2000.

I sold the car, and figured I could buy a camaro with an LS engine, and not have to worry about stability control or paying expensive maintenance for it.

Still haven’t bought the camaro, still have my breath taken away by corvettes.

I know this isn’t a car forum; but what do you guys think?

I've been a 1967 big block collector for over 35 years. I think Chevy has a winner with this car.
