Submariner and GMT Rolesor / every day watch

Hi guys,

I have my Submariner 116610LN for three years now and looking to buy GMT Master II - 126711CHNR as I love TT in this model.

However, I'm just thinking it is better to sell Submariner and buy GMT or to have both? Why I'm asking it is because they are looking "the same to me" except that GMT is TT.

Do you think GMT CHNR could be every day watch? I can't decide.

Help me with your thoughts...

Thanks!

Of course it can be. Do you want it to be yours is the question? They are also nothing alike IMHO.

I believe this is an add situation. If you can. Have both for a minute and see how the rotation works after you get out of the honeymoon phase.

TT CHNR is unique enough and will feel like a different watch than a black Sub. It is a beautiful watch! Get it as an add if you can afford. Both watches are fantastic!

My sub has been wore daily for 5 years. IMO the way to go. The TT can be a switch up but selling the sub will be regrettable.

Submariner for the weekdays and root beer for the weekend.

The two tone root beer is more classy looking and would go well when you are wearing a long sleeve button down shirt while the steel submariner looks great when wearing t-shirt, short pants and flip flops.

I would just add to your collection. Do not sell.

Had the CHNR and my 124060. For me the CHNR was not an everyday watch. For me the brown was tough to match and looked to milky brown, so sold it back. My AD told me you really have to love the root beer to purchase it, I know what he means now. I like it, just don’t love it.

I wear my Tt chnr doing almost everything. This includes; hiking in the mountains, shallow diving and snorkeling, camping, out to dinner with my family, around the house and of course working. I do not wear it cycling or trail running. It still looks great!

Submariner and GMT Rolesor / every day watch

Add the gmt and keep the sub. I have both watches.
The RG link on the gmt scratches easily, keep the sub as your daily wear. As far as the look, They have same case shape but have their own look. The gmt two tone bezel stands out more.

If only one, then SS Sub > CHNR
Both would be perfect.

Both. If only one I’d go with Submariner (no date)

you should never consider selling your sub if you don't have to, especially you are able to afford and keep they both.

These are very different watches and both models you selected are top in their model range. I’d keep both

Ever since I got the rootbeer it has been my daily. As much as I love the submariner i gravitate towards the tt more.

If you like similar styles and can find time to wear both then great.

If you find they’re too similar then get rid of sub and add a different style (non diver bezel)

I have tried yesterday both. Rootbeer is awesome, so submariner. But as someone said, they are similar styles and don't really know if I need both of them. However, I'm a little "short" to have both at this time so I have decided that I will sell sub, will buy Rootbeer and in few months will get datejust 41. Probably I will add this one to my collection. And yes, I can get it from AD.

I wear the Rootbeer daily and feel fine doing so, however I too am looking at adding a DJ41 to the collection mainly to give the Rootbeer a rest every now and then.

This. You will kick yourself if you do. I have two GMTs (BLNR and two tone) and a Green Sub. All are different to me and love each one for different reasons. Trust RealMadrid, add don’t subtract

The watch can be an everyday watch. It’s far too flashy for my personal definition of what an everyday watch should be. For example it would stand out with shorts and a tshirt where a SS sub not so much. But it’s versatile and can fit the bill to some degree.
