Icon20 BLNR Wait List

Hello,

I’m new to the forum. I ordered the BLNR from Torneau and was told it could take up to 3-10 months before it arrives. Does that sound right and if so, any suggestions on what I can do to possibly expedite? I live about an hour outside of Philadelphia.

Also, curious if anyone has had any experience (good/bad) w/ Torneau. So far I haven’t been impressed with their service, but figured they were my best chance of getting the BLNR - just based on their size. I spoke to a local AD and they quoted me up to 12 mos.

Regards,
Jim

3-10 months is pretty typical from what it sounds like.. especially if you’re a new customer to them

I think you could probably get it sooner than that and I’d rather give my business to another AD personally. If you haven’t been impressed either, why give them the business?

Sounds good to me. I went to my local AD this weekend and they wouldn't even put me on the waitlist for a BLNR lol.

I bought from them before, the one in Las Vegas was cool. But now, I hear to cut down on the everyone on a list plan, they require full payment for the watch. I think it depends where you live as well, some hot places in the US, may take longer. California has been rough to get one, long lists everywhere I have called.

Ordered one 3 weeks ago and was told 2 months. I do have a history with the ad, albeit not a substantial one. (Three watches in the last 2 years.)

Similar story here. I have a 2 watch history with the place I buy from and last week I was told about 3 months wait on a BLNR

I neither endorse nor reject Tourneau. They have large selections of many brands and in the past (at least) carried a diverse lineup of Rolex models. They are obviously a large chain and as such they tend to not be as personal as a family owned AD might be. All of that said, I have always been treated kindly and with professionalism in any of their stores. I just haven't had the personalized talks that I have had at other ADs where you can tell the salesmen are really passionate about watches.

I think the waitlist you have been given is commensurate with what we are seeing right now.

got on waiting list at underwoods in jacksonville FL on June 22nd. Was told 2-3 months. received it July 13th. Past history with AD was 2 watches in the past 3 years. They had zero steel sports in stock when i got on the list. Also, i gave them a deposit i think that definitely helps

I think I had the shortest wait time except those who bought them by just walking in. Last July, i went in Shreve(Palo Alto) and put down $1K deposit, and was told that it could take 3-4 weeks, but then ended up receiving a call after 18 hours and saying that the BLNR was ready. It was my first purchase from them. Also, i got a call after 3 days saying that a Hulk was ready, but I gave up on it since I was tight up financially.

for preowned above retail watches sure. Pretty sure they are not giving new customers hot watches which is the story everywhere. Established clients sure.

I had a good relationship at one point with the philly store. I was even called and offered the new black dial Daytona 6 months after release, but stupidly turned it down. I found that it depends on your relationship with the salespeople. The gentleman I dealt with got my older Daytona and my brothers BLNR in short order, however after he left they began treating me like a new customer and as such took my business elsewhere.

I would check out Govberg. They have a store in Center City, Philadelphia and in Ardmore, right outside the city. I have bought new and pre-owned from them in the past and have been very happy. My salesperson there, Karen Posnan, now works at Hamilton Jewelers in Princeton, NJ. It might be worth giving her a call too.

Mine arrived today after a 2 month wait. AD is in Indianapolis. Have a long history with then, but this was the first Rolex. I was prepared to wait much longer. Good luck to you this watch is worth the wait.

I’d strongly recommend you stay away from Tourneau. They are liars and cheats and deserve their in-the-gutter reputation. They lied about service on a yacht master I bought from them that was defective and then broke it, costing me $1600 to fix a defective product they sold to me. They are the worst.

I’m happy to pm you with my thread on the subject. Rolex service center fixed it but that was no thanks to Tourneau.

Shreve is absolutely the best. An incredible asset to SF and Silicon Valley.

Congrats in advance! Looking forward to the incoming post!

To the OP - all I'd do to help potentially improve your odds is stop by the store in-person every now and then, if it's feasible. Demonstrating continued interest in the particular watch can only help and you may be in for a surprise! Best of luck with picking one up!
