For me it’s the sub (boo, hiss).

It’s a great watch, and purely a personal thing but I could never see me passing a GMT for one. I just find the bezels on the GMT more interesting and a complication I would use.

100% Daytona. Always thought chronos were too busy in general. Not as much class as a lot of the other sport models. Just my opinion

Definitely Daytona...though it's arguably my favorite sports Rolex despite me being educated by the hype.

Of course it is but I assume that’s because It’s the most difficult to get. Thus the hype.

I happen to think it’s the best looking modern Rolex by a country mile however but yeah for sure, it’s hyped.

May it long continue to keep prices up!

All Rolex steel sports are overrated and overpriced (on secondary market).

Nothing is "overrated" to the owner that is happy with their watch(s).

Personally, I think most Rolex watches are "overrated" by consumers that consider them to be an "investment". I've have several other watches that have cost me very little and still function perfectly after 30+ yrs, without periodic service charges of $1000+, and 2-3 months of repair time. Too much drama.

I'd never buy a Rolex with a purple, green, pink, etc. dial, but that's just my preference.

Any modern Rolex with tiny font differences like so called stick or mistake dial GMT, flat 4 fonts on LV subs, and now the latest Mk1 dial tiny Rolex emblem between the Swiss Made on the 126600 .

Neither has a bright future on the pageant circuit but yes I do. But that's just my personal style sense.

Let's keep in mind that to be overrated, something has to be either very highly coveted or be very undesirable in real life. So this likely points to a very hyped and desired watch.

No one is going to say they think the most overrated Rolex is a watch that few like, but is even worse than that.

For me its the Daytona and the 114060 ND sub.

I hate watches without a date complication at an absolute minimum. Personal preference.

Any gray market price escalated offering with its often foreign warranty. My AD sold me a 2018 redesign/updated Deepsea for MSRP $12,550. The same watch is posted for $15,750.

I agree with you Steve. My local AD had both in stock in April and I picked the GMT. The bolder bezel of the GMT was the difference. Have to love small market AD's!

i guess they are all over-rated especially the steel professional models and extra-especially the ones going for ridiculous premiums over MSRP. I bought my 16710 in 1992 for 3K, I love it and it is a great watch but there is no way it is 3x's a better watch at nearly 9K on the pre-owned market. The ceramic bezels, re-designed cases, and newer bracelets still do not make them 3x's a better watch at current MSRP. I like them, I wear them and some how I justify to myself it is really worth it.

Amazing picture! May I say, great job keeping the time consistent right down to the seconds hand on the Daytona.

In the hierarchy of photographing watches, I put watches on wood just above hand in pocket. It just always works.

Will probably get flamed for this but I think it’s the Daytona. There is a crazy premium on the watch, yet to me it’s one of the least legible dials and there is no date.

Frank, it's clear to see that you're a Daytona fan boy. That's fine, a lot of people love that watch, but not me. Can't understand why you can't wrap your head around someone liking a Milgauss more than a Daytona. Is it just the monetary difference?
Also, you've been here a month and you're already throwing out derogatory names? Just what every forum needs, a shit disturber.
I'm not going dignify your request to post a picture of the Daytona I owned. If you're really interested (or don't believe me), search my history.

Just my opinion, but I think the OP makes a totally redundant question.

Can a Ferrari be too red, are some Roses overated?
Not really possible to get an objective perspective on
such a subjective issue.

Most of the threads on this forum are for opinions
You should know better as you are an old member
You see threads as
Your favourite Rolex
Which one for the next 20 years
Which one to buy
Best PM Rolex
Etc
There all based on users opinions
I just want to see the trend which seems to be the Daytona
