Incoming - SubC Date (and my first Rolex!)

I’ve had Subs on my brain for like seven months. Went back and forth between vintage and new, date and classic, went to ADs just to try to look at examples (which is really hard! All anybody has in display cases are TTs and PM - had to extrapolate how SS would look/feel). Finally put a deposit down at my local AD three weeks ago, got told 2-3 months, which was fine. I can wait. Got a “maybe” text last night and an “it’s here” text today! (Salesman I dealt with was shocked, but happily so).

Sitting here in a drs waiting room marveling at this thing. It’s jaw-dropping, like an exquisite work of art. I honestly don’t think photos do it justice - this is a watch that’s so much more when you see it in three dimensions. If you’re thinking about a Sub like I was, try to watch videos that shoot it up close - that captures what it feels like to look at it better than flat pictures do.

It still doesn’t feel real. I drove away from the AD deliriously happy, like my chest was going to burst. I’ve settled down, but it still feels so good to look at this watch.

Just wanted to thank you guys. I haven’t dealt with the majority of you but your posts have been super helpful and entertaining as well.

Congratulations on your purchase. Enjoy the watch. I had a similar experience just a month ago, so I can empathize. :thumbs up:

Love black Subs. There are many beautiful watches, colorful bezels and dials but this is overall the best looking Rolex in history. It just always looks good. Timeless and full of class.
Congratulations.

I'm going for my 4th Rolex in 4 years (Counting 2 LVc, first one was stolen and now, an incoming SS BLRO)

Sometimes I think how come I still don't have a black Sub C ????

All I know is that one day I'll get one !!

Congrats with yours !! Without a doubt, The classic !!

Can never go wrong with the Sub. Every rolex fan must have one variant or another.
