I'm all for taking care of my watches, but protective film is a bit too much! LOL
If I'm going to be doing something that could result in heavy (key word) scratches or possible damage, I leave it off my wrist.

I get where you're coming from, but when I hand my watch off to my kids, I want them to remember the activities we went through with the watch on, not how much I babied it. Each time they'll look at it they'll wonder what the old fart was up to.

I think clear cover could have the opposite effect on your watches. The plastic material and adhesive will have areas that trap dirt and grime, which ultimately will destroy your metal’s finish. This is the supposed “delicate” bezel SS Daytona that is a “scratch magnet”. I wear my watches sticker free and in normal use and they are just fine. Just have some wrist awareness that’s all that’s needed.

Have we not had a few of these threads already recently?

I thought one member even went and set up a business doing the stickers.

I believe there is enough of a market for those custom cut plastics to keep the companies in business.

But they aren’t useful regarding the routine everyday hazards that face all watches. That is, dirt & grime getting into the bracelet link pivots, sleeves and pins.

And they are useless against the really hard knocks a watch can get even in mildly energetic activities.

Rolex put a lot of time into crafting, and polishing your watch. I want to enjoynit to the fullest without a clear film detracting from the brilliance of the shine and sheen.

Covering it is like your girlfriend wearing a beach wrap over a bikini ... it’s way hotter without

Yarg. This again? Get a Casio - they're already plastic. Metal is where I'm at.

Actually that's quite inaccurate. After 5 years it will go into service and after some polishing it'll look just like yours.

Personally, I wouldn't do it, but I wouldn't judge anyone who did.

Ahh, just as in watches beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I’m sure the girlfriend is exquisite

Because cars are not made from 904L stainless steel.

Anyone? Sure, people do some pretty silly stuff.

The better question is whether anyone in their right mind would do it.

And the answer is no.

I think the argument (to which I agree) is that if a person is so worried about their "investment" depreciating from a scratch, then they really can't afford to buy a watch for its intended purpose (i.e., to wear it).
