Incoming for the lady

Her first perpetual calendar and it is much better IRL than the picture due to the texture of the dial.

I ordered this originally so she can have a matching watch/caliber with the anticipated 5740 for me. Now 5740 is no more but she still gets a great watch. (The 5740 was another story 🥹)

I have been waiting for the 5740 for three years. And 2023/2024 was supposed to be my delivery. Unfortunately my AD is no longer a Patek AD now.

Beautiful piece. Congrats to her.

I know your AD lost PP, but they still delivered this one?

Not really complaining as he had been giving us some nice allocations. And I am actually almost at the end of my Patek journey so one less incoming does not sting that much. I can imagine if I am just starting out and then my AD got shut down, I would have felt very differently.

I am mostly independents now. FPJ and MB&F are my current love. But expecting a couple of Voutailinen’s in the next couple of years. If I am fortunate, I am hoping for a Simon Brett allocation for 2025/2026 delivery.

If anyone can hook me up with a Patek MR application, I am all for it too but with the my AD gone, I can only dream.

Wow really moved on to bigger and better things :) are you buying FPJ on the grey market or thru a boutique ?

Which Voutaillinen’s are you getting?

Ouch I feel for you. How far were you from getting a MR allocation? Very nice piece for the wife though.

Assuming the kind of Patek allocations you’ve gotten… you should try going to the Geneva Saloon and asking about a MR.

Patek Museum is a nice visit if you haven’t been as well.

According to my AD. I may still be far from being qualified for a MR. Even though I already have two GCs, I may still be missing some higher end GCs like a 5270 and above.

Too bad. The only Patek’s I am interested in now are the enamel world timer and the minute repeater. And to start working on my profile again with other pieces which I don’t love with another AD does not make sense. But as many people mentioned, Patek probably does not care about small fries like me.

If I was in your shoes, I’d visit Geneva if you find yourself in Europe. It’s an expensive piece, get the info from the horse’s mouth. With your AD losing status, doesn’t sound like their opinion matters much anymore.

I would think that Geneva may be willing to put you on the list, or connect you with a new AD close to you. And then just wait and see (wouldn’t try to further build profile). If it happens it happens. If it doesn’t, well it’d be a fun trip to try on some nice pieces and learn some cool history on watches
