Chicago Nov. 8th

Oak Brook CD Peacock is having a private "event" on Nov. 8th beginning at 6 pm. It's invite only, but I am told as long as 1 person in the group was invited then it won't matter.

The only "perk" I know of this year are the privacy of the event at 0%/3yr. financing if that tickles your fancy.

I should be able to be there around 7pm, depending on how rush hour treats me from the city. The "event" continues on the 9th and 10th, but is not exclusive.

Last year Rolex Reps were at this event. Not this year, though. Sorry.

If we get enough of a group together, I'm thinking drinks and dinner to follow at Wildfire.

PM me if interested. Include your email information.

Last call for interested persons. I've had 1 PM.

I'll be going there this weekend to check it out -- this is the one dealer who called me and told me they had the new Expy II available for review.

The invitation included a card for 36 mos. at 0% finance as well as a card for getting 10% value back on another purchase (not this one). Flimsy, I know, but just putting it out there.

If I don't get more PM's, I'm going to shut this off by Monday the 7th and not hope to see anyone.

PM me if you feel differently.

How's the private event at CD Peacock? Do they have anything good?

Well, I got to model a white dial new Expy 42mm. Didn't like it as much as I thought I would.

I picked up a DJII, but I have yet to even wear it. It's one I was stalking for months, but now that I have it I can't make myself like it like I want to.

One thing that was nice is that for once they had a fully stocked case with all the varietals laid out for Rolex, Pam, and PP. It's nice to look in a case and the the 36 and 39 mm Expy sitting right beside each other, or 4 rows of the various makes of Daytonas arrayed in the case (no SS thought HAHA!). There were over 3 dozen Pams in that case, and probably 20 Pateks. I didn't look at Corum or Cartier, because I have zero interest in those watches, but they said they were selling well out of all the cases.

One thing I like about this particular AD is that it never bothers them to have more than one watch out at a time or put one on and wear it around while shopping for other stuff. It works, too, it sells watches.

Sounds like you had a good time Jon. Sorry I couldn't come, however a weekday is a bit difficult for me to make. I hope to make a GTG sometime in the future though.

Bah, any effort at Chicago GTG's is lackluster at best.

(PM me if you feel otherwise, lol!)
