There is a thread on here somewhere that talks about this.
The results are not the same as when fading naturally occurs.

I went through a lot of inserts before I settled on this one. I love the ghost fade as well.

Something about the way it appears to blend perfectly with the steel.

When I eventually go for a faded insert for mine, it'll have to be one like these...better start the hunt now then.

Confession: Initially, I planned on flipping this, but now-
I am thinking I'm going to keep this 1680 and get the meters first (Just have to find a good one)

perhaps.the guys who live in sunnier climes could leave an insert on on a sun facing window ledge for a while and monitor it to see if it fades..if i stayed in that type of climate i would try it.

That is my all time favorite black faded Gmt insert that I have seen. That wrist shot with the boats gives the impression that you and the watch have been at sea for awhile. Well done.

Thank you. I have "Mr. Faded Insert" himself, Steve Mulholland to thank for that.

As for being at sea for a while, I was a naval officer for a few after college and spent WAAAY too much time at sea standing mid watches. I have been racing sailboats since I was ten. I love closed course racing,and avoid offshore/distance races.

If you came to Arizona and left it outside on a July day it would take about 15 minutes

The toll the AZ sun takes on black "things" is simply amazing

Any good source"s for a faded fat font for a 1675 as well as a ghost like the OP for a meters first 1680? I sniff around VRF as well as TRF, and cant seem to locate, Thanks
