DD40s at Rolex boutique
Visited a Rolex boutique today and was able to try on the DD40 in all four different metals. I never had the chance before to see them all at the same time.

I was in the same situation two months ago. I really liked the Everose/Green, but then chickened out on the coloured gold. Then I seriously considered the white gold version but just couldn't do the fluted bezel. In the end I chose the most understated one.

Well, there was a shortage. Not a single SS or TT professional reference available.
When I asked about availability the sales rep clearly pointed out that all these 'extremely rare' references mysteriously can become available instantly after buying one of the DDs. |

Pt and WG anything is a hard ask in London. No Pt DD's in 40mm at several AD's. Its madness the white metals in particular are way hot.

WG with olive dial is my favorite among these four although I always thought a DD needs to be YG.

Nice watches. I wish the DD had a micro adjustment for the bracelet and it would almost be a perfect watch for me.

+3. WG with olive is sublime. A perfect pairing of bezel, case material, and dial color & design.

Everose + olive dial is such a charming combination. My favorite configuration for the DD40.

I’ve tried all the above (and a few other variations), as well as Everose with the white dial, which is also quite elegant.
I ended up purchasing the Everose with the anniversary olive dial. If you have the opportunity, do take a look at them under the sun and natural lighting. The spotlights in most AD’s tend to throw things off. You can’t go wrong with just about most DD40’s, however. It is simply the king of the Rolex line. |

As a first, you need to get a yg, that is the ultimate dd
I loved the rose with green but for practically, I went with the yg dd 40 white face To me its pure class and an easy dial to read |
