116622 cyclops

As most of you already probably saw my incoming thread the other day about me acquiring the new 116622 YM blue, I noticed that the cyclops magnification isn't that strong on it. For some reason I feel like it's only magnified 1x or 1.5x and not that actual 2.5x it's suppose to be at. Some pictures it looks more "full" but others you can tell the date window is kinda small. In person you can tell the best though and that sometimes bothers me.

I had a subC and the cyclops on that was impressive. Also, my datejust that's my daily has a good magnification as well. So when I wear the new yachty, it kinda bugs me. Feels like I have one of those cheap replicas on for some reason.

Do you think I should take the watch to an AD and tell them about it? I bought the watch from davidSW so it's not like I got it brand new with my name on the warranty card. Or should I take it to a RSC and see what they can do? Or maybe should I just leave it the way it is and stop being so picky? Lol

Here are some pics from my incoming thread and I have pics of when I first got it on the 16th. Tell me what you guys think

I have a GMT blnr bought in april this year. The magnification on this watch is the same as your YM. The cyclops also looks like it smaller than other Rolexes I have or had.

This issue has been raised a few times already. Seems that the never batches have a lower magnification. Some have posted on their Subs, while others their WG GMT...

The magnification does look a bit low.... but my God man that's one seriously gorgeous watch! I wouldn't mess with it.

Thanks guys.... I guess I'm too picky with this new purchase since all my other rolexes I've owned had the proper magnification. I might just have to get used to it

I have seen this issue posted before. It is concerning. I have 116622 also. I think my magnification may be a little stronger than yours.

Consistency is a hallmark of quality. Some may want to sweep these kinds of problems under the rug. I am not one of those. 99% percent may not care and so Rolex may not care and that is inconsistent with their brand.

The low magnification is an annoyance--wouldn't be able to live with it and diminishes the value of having the cyclops cluttering up your crystal.
