DJ 1601: Silver Hands on Gold Dial?
I have an opportunity to buy this 1601, but I'm unfamiliar with Rolexes of this vintage.
It struck me as odd that the minutes- and hours-hands are silver, while the seconds-hands are gold, and the dial is gold. The serial number (1.4M) dates it to 1966-67. Can you more knowledgeable member comment on this watch and the mix of silver hands and other gold accent? The seller (a great guy and a trusted member/seller) said it just had a service by an independent watchmaker. He's just unsure about the silver hands. Comments are most appreciated. Here are pictures: Thank you for any and all comments. Sent from my slingshot using Tapatalk |
