imo, the side of the DSSD looks too crazy, disproportion and chunky. Also the braclet looks like it is a bit too narrow for a watch that size.

Dssd...
I am sure that the weight of my Dssd is very much different to any other Dssd owners, not just because of the number of links differs but something else... |

great review. Now you just need to add the SDc4000 to the review. :)

Beautiful review/comparison thanks for it. I have a sub c no date and long for the deepsea. In my view the sub won the Lume comparison ( on Symmetrix ) and I tell myself the sub is better for me due to cost to buy, running costs (servicing) resale demand.

Thank you for this fantastic review.
I am about to buy a DSSD over a SubC and this just nails it for me. |

In pictures close up, it does. On the wrist though, it's not so evident. My bluesy compared to my D-Blue.

I recall weighing mine some time back and it came in at 205g. I have it in a 6/4 config with extension removed. |

Excellent review. I would have never guessed the DSSD was that comfortable. Never really thought about one, as I assumed they were top heavy and difficult to wear.

I've been wanting a black DSSD for months now, but always thought it would look odd on my short, Asian frame and 6-3/4" wrist size.
But then, I finally decided to get one after trying on my friend's DeepBlue at a party. It looked just perfect on my wrist. My wife and other friends said so too. The 17.7mm thickness was hardly an issue. Weight is fine too. The "skinny" bracelet may look slightly out of proportion with the big case, but it accentuates the diameter of the bezel in contrast. For me I think, that is a plus. Five years ago, it would have looked odd indeed, but with the change in fashion trends, big dials have become the new normal. 44mm for any man isn't considered all that big anymore, as even women have become accustomed to wearing 40mm watches. I ordered a black DSSD the other day, yet to receive it next week. It's an old 2014 version (Mark III), and pretty scratched up based on the dealer's photos, but I really want to add this one to my watchbox. I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the entire Rolex line go up a notch or two on the caliper in the next few years. With the arrival of 43mm Sea-Dwellers, could a Submariner or GMT 43mm really be beyond the realm of imagination? Hmmm... could this be why they have (according to rumors) have stopped production? Retooling for 43mm Submariners perhaps? :p But that is a conspiracy theory for another thread. |
