1964 Submariner glass crystal scratch repair?

This is a constant battle. During the last service I asked if I could replace the glass with a sapphire crystal but no dice. Anyone know how to repair these scratches? I don't want to take it down to a random shop. I'm in Las Vegas. Any off the shelf options? Thanks in advance for any help.

Nick

If it’s a 1964 Sub, you can just polish the scratches out. The crystal should be acrylic.

If your in Vegas any Rolex dealership should be able to buff it out for you. I know that the RSC's do and at no charge! Good luck.

There is a product called "Polywatch" which does an excellent job removing scratches from acrylic crystals but you won't find it locally and will need to order a small tube. You can also use regular ol' toothpaste to buff out the scratches, although in my opinion, it doesn't work as well/quickly as the polywatch but it does work! Either way, this is definitely something you can do yourself.

Thanks for the replies. I will try the polish first and then the dealer. Much appreciated.

Older watch crystals are Plexiglass. Any plastic cleaner and polishing compound will work just fine.

Toothpaste works as good or better than Polywatch in my experience.

Update:. Thanks for the Polywatch tip and the toothpaste trick. I originally thought this was a glass crystal - that's what Rolex Beverly hills said! Terrible. Anyway the Polywatch worked like a charm. Thanks for the advice.
