Holiday Libations...>>>>>>

What's your favorite Holiday libation or booze pairing? I have a few, Rumple minze and Hot Chocolate, Cognac and shortbread. Then of course there are the stalwarts like Foie and Sauterne or Stilton and Port, anybody do mulled wine or a "flaming rum punch" LOL

Found this “Grinch Grog” locally from a local winery, served warm, we had half the bottle a couple nights ago, very good.

I have mulled wine a few times, but only when I was at a Christmas market in Germany. To me that is the only place for it, otherwise I will stick with wine and whiskey.

Being from Australia my favoutie Christmas pairing is some nice oysters with a cold crisp riesling. Prawns and chardonnay are a close second.

Having a holiday party with friends this weekend. I’ll have to dig out the winter cocktails book.

Last year my wife made some bacon washed bourbon drink that was pretty good. May be a crime to you though

I’m sure we will do a mulled cider drink. Probably some port.

Lately my thing has been gold rush: whiskey honey and lemon

Macallan 18 paired with... ice. Thats about as creative as i get.

Although I'm really into Lagavulin 16 at the moment, so the Macallan might get passed over this holiday season and stay on the shelf.

I was never much of an eggnog guy until I discovered great bourbon. Now I like to enjoy one of those until it's time to just pour the liquid gold straight into the glass.

I usually drink Cabernet, sometimes a vodka drink, but at a friend's holiday party, had started a tradition of shots of "Slippery Nipples" (Butterscotch Schnapps and Bailey's).

At some point the shots ended and we started drinking it in a Red Solo Cup with crushed ice.

You have to like sweet to drink this, it's like drinking a Milky Way candy bar.

I like a simple Jim Beam and coke with a lot of lime and a candy cane stir stick. It actually goes well together.

For some reason during the holidays I have a particular affinity to Manhattans and martinis always served up. Maybe it's all the family around that makes me feel the need to get to a relaxed happy place - and ignore my nephews treating my home like a McDonald's playground.
