Buy a super jubilee bracelet and switch it up every 3 months?

So hot on the super jubilee.

This is my favorite dress watch (I do not have many to choose from), but it is worth to look at (or other models from this line). Portugieser hand wound 8 days with power reserve on the back.

since you have a blnr I recommend a JLC reverso or master control preowned. Cartier tank preowned great as well for another similarly square-ish shaped piece but for me reverso sings more. New nomos tangente 38mm w/silvery cut dial and sub seconds a nice different piece from a reputable german brand also pretty neat.

I recommend different brands to spice up the variety of your collection.

When OP says “dress watch” do they mean with a suit and tie, or with a dinner jacket and black tie?

Says the newbie with 50 posts. Newbies are getting gobby on here lately, time to put them in their place and stop them lowering the tone like they still think they are on the Kardashian forum.

Wow. A discordant note is being struck.

Differing opinions are welcome but not personal attacks. It ain't what you say - it's how you say it.

On the issue of the watch (this is a watch forum, right?), I don't think anyone could truthfully say that SS Grand Seiko is anything but gorgeous. It is simple, clean, elegant, understated, quietly beautiful. It doesn't shout "look at me", it allows you to learn its charms a bit at a time, not all at once. Really nice watch.

Agree 100%.
My order for that seiko was placed the day hodinkee put it up for sale. It’s gorgeous.

I ran to get one of these at $1100, and was too late. The resale market will be interesting. It’s a beauty at that price.

i know this is going to be above your budget but i strongly suggest the patek philippe 5120g

it can be had for a lower price preowned. after that i dont think you will want another dress watch ever. it's a simple wearble art.

you will have no need for those fancy looking dress watches.

you wont go wrong i promise. it is even better than the 5196 designs

While I don't see it in this year's catalog, the Ultra Thin in rose gold set me back $5200 new last year. You might find one out there. Pretty classic design with a well regarded movement.

As absolutely stunning as that new, blue enamel Seiko is....it is in no way 'slim' as the OP mentioned as a requirement. Thickness is the only thing that kept me from purchasing.

Wow ! That means all 150 timepieces in the USA were sold like hot cakes in 4/5 days after they were announced. Maybe Hodinkee will import another batch of 150 from Japan ! There's a Spanish seller on eBay who actually has 2 Seiko Presage Blue Enamel for sale.Check 'em out

Probably one of the most ignorant and arrogant posts I’ve read on here. Most will flat out disagree with you. Man I hope your joking.

To the OP, this may go against popular opinion, but take a look at Zenith. IMO, you get a lot of watch, in-house movement, and pretty decent finishing at a great price tag. I think they are undervalued, as long as you buy right and don’t pay MSRP. I really like my Zenith Captain Moon, but I have a flipping disease and feel I need scratch my JLC or ALS itch.

I just wore my Seiko SPB053 Prospex for two hours of leaf pickup and bagging. May dunk it in warm water and wear it for the rest of the day. Seiko makes a great watch and these new 62MAS homages are probably the best finished $800 diver you can get your hands on.
