First Rolex - Can't decide on which DateJust 2

I'm about to buy my first rolex

Originally, my first choice would have been the
1. SS with fluted bezel and the dark rhodium with diamond dial or the
2. SS with fluted bezel and the blue dial.

However recently, i've noticed the TT on a friends wrist so now my options include the
3. TT with fluted bezel with slate dial/green numerals or the
4. TT with fluted bezel with the ivory and diamonds.

What are you're opinions on the diamonds or TT watches for someone in the late 20's.
Or what would you personally select.

Call me old or old-fashioned (actually, both are appropriate), but I just don't think diamonds on a Rolex look good on a man, regardless of age. Undercuts the rugged appeal. TT? Sure.

All just IMHO, of course.

I personally like both diamond dials (depending on the watch like a serti sub) and TT. Whichever one you get will look great. Post pics when you can so we can see what you're thinking of getting

Welcome to TRF, the blue stick dial is fabulous. I opted for a smooth bezel, just a tad more subtle for my taste

Diamonds are for the 70 years old Palm Beach guy that bought his watch in the 80's

I chose this one. Only TT Rolex I like is 36mm DJ on jubilee.

This is a bit more modern.

Blue stick dial with or without bezel is SO great. Sticks have lots of lume too, Blue sunburst dial catches the light from all angles. I was trying on DJIIs yesterday at an AD.

Smooth bezel, blue dial and romans is the way to go. Versatile while elegant:

I personally like the rhodium with diamonds for the dressy occasions.

I like the blue and black stick dials, but I want my DJ to be more on the dressy side than sporty side since I have my sports models to do that. Therefore, I like Romans, and the slate with green numerals rocks!

Personally, I do not like diamonds on any watch, men's or women's. I do like those other choices.

TT w/ green roman numerals is in my opinion the best looking DJ II.

I've just about excluded #4 from my list.

I'm not a big diamond fan, but #1 looks dressy, and simple.
and the other two just look great.

Green numerals would be my choice here for TT, and for SS I would go black numerals. I do like the black stick dial as well, really there are many choices which make it hard to choose in the end! Good luck with your decision, let us know what you decide on!

I ended up getting the black dial with roman numerals (fluted bezel)
Exactly the same as jjnd08(as posted above)
Except the dial is more of a dark matt grey. Photos don't do it justice, it looks so crisp.

Blue dial looks great and is probably the most suited to your age IMHO

My choice would be number 3. It is versatile and fresh! A great version of a traditional model

I'm not a fan of tt, so I vote one of the fluted SS models.

I say number 1. The diamonds is a nice offset to the dark dial.

Congrats! You're right, photos don't do it justice. The dark grey matte dial is awesome, and really playful with the light. I got a lot of compliments on that watch.
