I didn't like it upon release but I saw it at Gassan HQ in Amsterdam last week (they have a room with every Rolex in their current collection, all dials, versions etc.) and the dial is very stunning to look at irl.

So true. I've yet to meet someone who has seen the D-Blue dial up close and personal and wasn't impressed by it. Hell, I was one of the naysayers upon its iintroduction, but upon handling my friend's, I was immediately smitten.
